"Had an awesome South Indian meal in downtown Toronto. Service was great, and the food honestly felt like being back in Chennai. Don't miss the appetizers, Chettinad Paneer, Podi Idli and Dosa. The sambar was next level."
Masala Dosa in Downtown Toronto
Crisp, golden and folded around a spiced potato filling, the masala dosa is one of the dishes guests come to Madras Curry for. Dosa comes up in 92 of our Google reviews, and you can order one every day from 11:30 AM until midnight at 178 Carlton Street.
About Our Masala Dosa
A dosa is a thin South Indian crepe made from a fermented batter of rice and urad dal, cooked on a hot griddle until the outside turns crisp and golden. For a masala dosa, the crepe is filled with a soft, spiced potato masala and folded, and it is traditionally eaten with sambar and chutney.
Dosa has its own section on the Madras Curry menu. Go classic with the Masala Dosa, try the richer Ghee Masala Dosa, or pick the Mysore Masala Dosa, a style traditionally made with a red chutney spread inside the crepe. One guest wrote that the food felt like being back in Chennai – order a dosa for lunch, a late dinner, pickup or delivery in downtown Toronto.
